This week started the second semester of school for my girls and me. Big Sister is back at college and Middle Sister and Little Sister and I (although in different districts) started second semester classes on Tuesday. Back in August when we went back to full-time in person school, we all certainly had a lot of questions and concerns. All of us are grateful for every day we've had with relatively normal events continuing for us. I know that's not the case for everyone, but I have loved watching cross country meets and basketball games and band concerts. It's true that you don't know how lucky you are until you don't have something. I'm praying for an uneventful and healthy second semester for students and teachers everywhere, and am thankful we've now made it to day 94 (out of 180 school days) in this very strange Covid-filled world.
We are also at the time of year when we are sick of looking at winter clothes, but there aren't yet a lot of spring and summer things out. I did find a few things to share, but can't wait for some shorts and summery tops to fill these Friday posts.
1. High Rise Slim Ankle Pants - I love these pants and right now it's all I can do to hold myself back from ordering them. I definitely would need to wait for warmer weather because winter in Iowa is not great for crop pants and exposed skin, but I'm thinking I would get lots of wear out of these.
6. Twill Field Jacket - this seems a little bit springy. I think I had a jacket much like this during college. I love this color.
7. Scenic Roads Cardigan - Sundance has the cutest sweaters. They aren't cheap, but I love them. This one is beautiful.
9. Classic Ultra Mini - I've heard these mini-Uggs are the rage. I haven't seen them in person, but I'm sure I could be persuaded to wear them.
10. Instant Pot Vortex Mini Air Fryer - everyone keeps raving about their air fyers. Well, I finally decided I would try one out myself. I initially looked at one that was $120, but wasn't sure how much money I really wanted to invest in one. This one is just $45 at Wal-Mart. I know it's small, but although we are a family of five it seems that our meal times are often disjointed and we all eat at different times anyway. Plus it doesn't take up much counter space.

The camo sweater and driving mocs are my faves.
I think you guys are doing pretty well considering you are back in school. Keep your guard up. I know so many now who have it and they can't say how they got it. My uncle now has it and he has leukemia so that is not good. He was having trouble breathing so I told him to order a pulse oximeter and now he can tell when his oxygen dips. That seems to be the biggest issue. Not knowing if you need intervention or not.
On a personal note we are still dealing with weird weather. Wind has stopped for a moment but now they are saying two year's worth of rain is coming in three days. More extremes for us. More auditions in peril with loss of power and the like. I am a nervous wreck trying to navigate backup plans and the like. My daughter says it freaks her out when I mention these things but these are one-time auditions so you really have to have a plan in case something happens.
In other news, now my son says he wants to go to grad school. That was not in the plan so trying to navigate that too.
