Sunday Salon

Happy Sunday! I have spent a great portion of my day in the kitchen attempting to cook some meals for the week. I tried out a beef and broccoli crockpot recipe that I'm pretty happy with, cooked up a batch of cheeseburger soup, a loaf of beer bread, made a bowl of salad for people to eat during the week and am going to finish off with some cut-out cookies for Thanksgiving.

Since I've focused my attention on food, I have barely touched the laundry.  It seems like I can't get everything done at once.

Middle Sister had two performances of the middle school play this weekend, so that is over with and she can focus on Lego League and volleyball now.

Big Sister had two babysitting jobs this weekend that wore her out, although she is feeling pretty rich and would like to go shopping at some point.

And Little Sister stayed over at a friend's, which is sort a big step for her since overnights are a little out of her comfort zone. This week she was absorbed by My Life as a Book by Janet Tarshjian. I love this picture of her reading while Dottie cuddles up.

It is interesting that now there are times when I am alone in the house for a few hours at a time as everyone is getting older and having some of their own plans. However, I can't go too far on my own yet, as my chauffeuring duties are needed.

I am hoping I have enough food prepped to get us through the week ahead. We have conferences for the older two girls tomorrow night, and my book fair is set up at school which means my week is a little crazy.  On Thursday we have our fall festival at school which equals a late night.  And, my husband is starting wrestling practices tomorrow, kicking off the official start to the 2015-2016 season.

I'm planning on finding a good book soon and a cozy spot on the couch.

I know. My one kid drives but like tonight, there is a performance far, far away from us and a late one to boot so we have to drive him and another cast member to the performance. We have to leave at 5 to get there by his 7pm call time and it doesn't start until 8 so it will be a really long night. I had to pull the girl out of rehearsal for Peter Pan tonight in order for us to be with us because it will be too late for her to be on her own.
