Full Cicada Moon

The cover of this one is so beautiful that just the cover alone made me want to read this book.  But the story is amazing as well, and I loved reading this novel in verse.

Another wonderful thing about this novel is that it is historical fiction. Set in 1969, Hilton revisits this time period by

Mimi and her mother join her father in Vermont where he has already been working at the local college. As part African American and part Japanese, Mimi doesn't see anyone in her new school or town that looks like her. Fitting in is tough especially when people are judging her by her outward appearance alone.

This is a novel about fitting in, growing up, and friendship.

Full Cicada Moon is beautifully written.  I loved every word.
