Non-Fiction November Week 2

The second week in Nonfiction November focuses on pairing a fiction and non-fiction title.   I've got a few different ideas and love when I'm reading a book and can connect it to another that I've read.

This week Julie at Julz Reads is hosting Nonfiction November, so if you are looking for more posts about great non-fiction books, head over there to check them out.

The Royals are one of my favorite things to read about.  And, although I love reading about the Windsors, I also enjoy a good novel about an imagined royal family, too.

As a child of the 80s, I vividly remember watching the Challenger explosion. I have tried to read as many books about it as I can find. I loved Margaret Lazarus Dean's novel about a young girl growing up so near to this event, and am looking forward to this nonfiction book about McAuliffe.

I have never watched The Bachelor, but I thoroughly enjoyed One To Watch by Kate Stayman London, which is a fun (and somewhat thought-provoking) look at reality television shows like The Bachelor.  Bachelor Nation is a non-fiction look at the Bachelor show that I purchased three years ago now -and is still in my TBR.  Maybe someday I'll get around to it.....

I am looking forward to seeing the other book pairings from bloggers today and am anxious to add more to my TBR.

Oh my gosh, I remember watching the Challenger explosion as well. So sad and tragic. I remember being really confused as to what had happened.

So many of us teachers were deeply saddened by the death of the teacher in space.

Ooh, what great pairings! I feel like the all deal with really interesting social phenomena. Interest in the royals and reality TV clearly are, but even space disasters also really bring people together in an interesting way.
