Sundays are for getting ready for the coming week - and this Sunday I tried to cram a lot into just one day.
We finally, finally took our Christmas decorations down. I had been wanting to get that job done for a few weeks, but since our storage bins are stored in the rafters of the garage, it is my husband who climbs up there and gets them down. With wrestling going on, we are at the mercy of his schedule.
Yesterday was Middle Sister's first volleyball tournament of the season. This is the third year she has played volleyball, and there has been a lot of improvement by all the girls.
So, after sitting in a gym for several hours, a bunch of parents and players went out to supper, which was a lot of fun, but definitely not healthy.
Today I joined some friends to see Concussion at the theater. I listened to the audio book and loved it, and really enjoyed the movie, too.
Tonight I went to the first ever meeting of a book club my friend Jess asked me to help her start. There were five of us there - which is a few fewer than we wanted, but scheduling for moms is difficult. Our first book is Better Than Before by Gretchen Rubin (my pick) which we hope will be a good way for us to get to know each other better since the five of us there are just acquaintances at this point.
This weekend was unusually busy in terms of socializing. That means I didn't do a bunch of reading, so I am heading into the week feeling behind already. I do have some meals ready for the week, but can hardly believe that the weekend is here already.
I am feeling grateful that we have missed out on the snow that the East coast is getting, and am hoping that spring is right around the corner for all of us.
If anyone has some book club recommendations to share, let me know.
