Monday Mini-Reviews: It's Been A While

Summer reading is always so enjoyable.  The season is full of beach reads and with the "extra" time I have in the summer, I can usually get through a fair amount of books.

These six were all good, and one of them was a one-sit read because I couldn't put it down.

Same Time Next Summer by Annabel Monaghan- this sophomore rom-com doesn't disappoint.  I was happy to get into this one and loved the story of reconnecting with your first love.

Girls and Their Horses by Eliza Jane Brazier- I loved this book.  Money, show jumping, toxic friendships, and a dead body discovered in a stable.  I couldn't put this one down and loved every page.

The Golden Couple by Sarah Pekkanen and Greer Hendricks- this novel of suspense is by an author duo I generally enjoy.  A happily married couple has some dark secrets which are slowly revealed. A fast read, although forgettable.

The Postcard by Anne Berest- translated from French, the narrator in this story searches for four family members who were lost during the Holocaust after receiving a postcard with their names on it.

The Whispers by Ashley Audrain - a much more character driven novel than The Push, Audrain's first book, but the conclusion is worth it.

Time's Undoing by Cheryl Head - this novel moves from 1929 to 2019 as the main character goes in search of what happened to her great grandfather who she heard was murdered in the South.

I've got a vacation planned for next week, which might make reading time a little scarce, but things are slowing down a bit for the summer and I'm going to try and use those extra minutes to get more reading done.
