Kristan Higgins was such a pleasant discovery last year. I ended up reading a couple of her books and loved them.
Out of the Clear Blue Sky is the newest Higgins novel, and it is another book I fell in love with.
Lillie Silva's son will be heading off to college soon. And just as she is planning a European vacation with her husband to kick off their years as empty-nesters, her husband announces that he wants a divorce.
I loved Lillie from the start and found her husband Brad to be annoying at best. I enjoyed watching Lillie's transformation from a heartbroken wife who had been cheated on to a woman who had possibilities and an exciting future ahead of her.
This was such a good read. I had a full week of school (the first full week of the 2022-23 school year) to get through and didn't have much reading time to speak of, but I found myself trying to hold off on bedtime so I could get through a few more pages.
This novel may at first seem a little fluffy, but I am always surprised at how Higgins creates characters with depth.
