TLC Book Tour: The Drifter

The Drifter is a novel full of suspense as Christine Lennon allows one woman to come to terms with the devastating events that occurred during her time in college.

Lennon begins her story in 2010, as Elizabeth struggles to let her child go to preschool and be out of her sight.  She recalls something that happens in college that has impacted her and the way she has lived since.

Much of the book is set in 1990, when Betsy/Elizabeth was in college.  She's got friend drama, boy drama, and is wanting to live a little on the wild side. I liked the references and descriptions of the time period, which is near the same time period when I was in college.

This background information gave insight into Betsy's life and what has caused her to behave the way she does almost twenty years later.

She and Gavin relocate to New York in an attempt to start over, but it is obvious that they cannot escape their pasts.

Much of this novel is spent in the 90s and I raced to find out what happened to Betsy to create the woman she now is.  This is quick read, and Lennon definitely knows how to develop a suspenseful and interesting story that will suck readers in.

Thanks to TLC Book Tours for providing a copy of this book. All opinions expressed are, as always, my own.

I was in college in the 90s so I'm sure a lot of the setting would be very familiar to me!

Thanks for being a part of the tour.
