Children's Lit: Carter Avery's Tricky Fourth Grade Year

It's been a minute since I've posted any children's or YA books I've read.  I've read a lot, though.  Rob Buyea is one of my favorite authors and Carter Avery was such a fun read.

Carter is a kid with a lot of energy.  He has a hard time sitting still and hard time not blurting out.  Although he's dreading having Ms. Krayne for a teacher, he is happily surprised. Despite several years of having teachers that didn't enjoy Carter, Ms. Krayne believes in him and sees a lot of positive things in Carter.

But things can never go entirely smoothly.  Carter is annoyed by the know-it-all, Missy Gerber, who is in his class and he finds out that some people in town would like to get rid of Ms. Krayne. Carter develops a plan to save his teacher, who is the one teacher who appreciates him.

There is a fantastic cast of characters in this novel, and if you liked the Mr. Terupt series, this is another great school story.
