On Friday, I took Big Sister to get a pedicure and manicure (her first) in celebration of her confirmation this weekend.
Later that day we headed to Marshalltown where we spent a night in a hotel so we would be closer to the gym on Saturday morning for Middle Sister's sixth grade state volleyball tournament.
That consumed almost all of yesterday. The girls played fine. Not great, not horrible. They didn't place, but had a fantastic season. Back in fourth grade volleyball consisted of a lot of serving since teams weren't able to volley very well. Now each point is a huge battle. Lots of volleying.
This morning we were headed to church bright and early for Big Sister's confirmation. There are six in her class at church and a public examination by the pastor is done an hour prior to the ceremony where he asks the confirmands questions from our Catechism along with Bible verses, the ten commandments, and other points that are important for their faith.
Big Sister's Confirmation Verse:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3: 5-6
We had almost twenty people over for lunch, and tonight I'm all about eating leftovers since I haven't yet looked at lesson plans or thought about school.
Tomorrow break is over and we are back to reality. I had a great break. Lots of reading and relaxing during the first part.
I managed to read this entire pile of books in the past week. Yay, me! It doesn't even put a dent in the TBR stack and the 107 books I have checked out of the library (yes, 107 books!), but I am feeling pretty good about getting this much reading done.
How about you? Any big plans for Holy Week? How was your spring break?

What a nice weekend and week you guys had! Congrats to Big Sister. Amazing amount of reading - you are a wonder, Tina! Volleyball - those were the days. Have a good week back at work. Love the verse, by the way. :-)
