Read From My Shelves Recap

While I did finish the War Through the Generations Challenge, the Read From My Shelves Challenge was not quite as successful. However, I did read from my shelves - just not always from the titles listed.

Even though I only completed half of my list, I am still counting this challenge as a success. At least I did read some books that had been languishing on my shelves for far too long. In 2011 my list is composed of the titles I didn't complete in 2010, plus a stack of books I am adding to my list. I didn't see that a list is required this year for the challenge, but I laid out the books I most want to get to, and if I read anything else, that should count, too.

The 2010 List:
Adult Titles:
1. Shanghai Girls by Lisa See
2. Clara's War by Clara Kramer

Tina, you've got a good list for 2011. I've read MAISIE DOBBS and MOCKINGBIRD. Also THE MEMORY KEEPERS DAUGHTER. Enjoyed all of them. Charles Shields did a call-in to my book group a couple of years ago when we read MOCKINGBIRD. Really enjoyed that.

I'm a big fan of Percy Jackson and his series. Hope you get to it this year. Very creative and a good reminder about mythology.

These are some great titles. Memory Keeper's Daughter, The Alchemyst, and Little Bee are all great.

Four Spirits--I really liked. Memory Keeper's Daughter--will tug at you.

Looks like a good list. Maybe I should make my own list?

That's quite a list. Our book club has trouble getting together every six weeks (we mostly have trouble agreeing on a book)
Happy New Year.

I saw that "The Adoration of Jenna Fox" was on your list for last year, and then this year, too! I finished reading it a week or two ago - it was not at all what I was expecting; it was very good and gave me a lot to think about! Hope you enjoy it when you get around to reading it! :)
