Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
Grab your current read
Open to a random page
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
"Naturally, Mr. Tall, Light-Haired didn't stand a chance. Though I dated him for five months, which was about four months and two weeks longer than I should have (he knew his way around town, and, I'll admit, it's perhaps a bit too easy to keep a boyfriend around just because he knows which way to turn off a freeway exit), I think I can safely say that the highlight of the relationship was the eight or so seconds it took him to walk through my front door for the first time and behold the awesomeness of my taste and self-sufficiency (and he liked the place; he really, really liked it!) (139)."

Life Would Be Perfect If I Lived In That House by Meghan Daum

I've had this one checked out a while and when I tried to renew it the other day I was denied because there is another hold on it. A sane person would have just taken it back and read it a different time, but I decided to start it immediately and make sure I got it done in a day and a half (as if I didn't already have several books going at once!).

Sounds fabulous! And yes, probably a "sane" person would return the book, but not a book loving person!

I would do the same as you did!

Here's my teaser:

Well at least you managed to get it read, and based on your teaser it sounds like it is a fun read too.

A) I love that teaser, it sounds like a fun book. B) I love that you rushed through it just so you could read it before the next person! Hahaha! My teaser is at The Crowded Leaf.

They'll just have to wait until you're finished! And as someone with no sense of direction, I can understand hanging onto a guy because he doesn't get lost. Good teaser!

My teaser is here.

That's a long second sentence! Maybe I should re-read Bolano's 2666 just so I can post one of his five-page long won't-ever-stop sentences.

So often I have a stack of books sitting here waiting to be read :) There just aren't enough hours in the day some times.

Good Teaser! The author is new to me - will have to see what the library has.
HERE is my teaser for this week!

Sure sounds like a funny read. Love the witty writing of this author. I will have to check this out. The book I've been reading is called, "The Deadfall Project," by Brett James. It's an exciting crime fiction thriller about Iranian terrorists who plant a bomb in Paris, nearly killing millions, and one man must track them down before they strike again. Here's the teaser from the book - enjoy!:
"There was an audible click and the lights went out. Grey jumped back so fast he almost fell into the water."
