TLC Blog Tour: Bent Not Broken

As a female myself and a mother of three girls, I really haven't given a great deal of thought to the male's fascination with their penis.  But after reading Bent Not Broken, I have certainly given it more attention than I ever thought I would

Don Cummings' memoir is open and honest and he shares personal information about Peyronie's disease, a condition that he has where scar tissue and plaque build up causing a painful curvature to his penis.  I will admit that prior to reading this book, I had no idea that such a condition occurred, and I found the information that Cummings shared rather fascinating.  In addition to the physical aspects of this condition, Cummings suffered emotionally as well.  His Peyronie's disease affected his sex life and caused him to question his identity as well.

Readers should be warned that this novel is graphic. I will read pretty much everything and my tolerance is fairly high, but as I read I wondered who I could recommend this book to.  Certainly there is an audience for it, but most of my friends and family would find this book a little too graphic for their taste.

I commend Cummings for his open and frank memoir about his condition which will undoubtedly help others who are also experiencing similar problems.

Thanks to TLC Books for providing a copy of Bent Not Broken for my review.  All opinions expressed are, as always, my own.

My husband, who I have NEVER seen read a book in the 17 years I have known him, is actually paging through this because he had no idea Peyronies was even a thing and so now I wonder if he's paranoid. Haha!! Thanks for being on this tour!
