TLC Book Tour: Girl Unknown

I've been reading a string of books that happen to be about secrets in some way, shape or form.  Girl Unknown is another book that fits right in with these recent reads.

Karen Perry is an author duo, which is interesting to me simply because the story is told by alternating narrators, David and Caroline, a married couple who have weathered the ups and downs of marriage for nearly twenty years.

David, a college professor, is stunned when one of his students shows up at his office one day and declares that she is his child - the result of a relationship he had before he married Caroline. This new child disrupts the life he and Caroline have built with their two children.

I appreciated getting to hear from both David and Caroline.  I also really felt like I could understand and relate to both of their decisions and thought processes.  Zoe was such an interesting character, and the way she was developed allowed me to see her as someone I liked, but as time wore on, and more was revealed about her, Zoe became a character I disliked intensely.

The resolution was satisfactory and tied things up sufficiently.  I like books that have a college setting and the fact that David was a college professor also made this enjoyable.  As someone who is close in age to Caroline and David I can appreciate how their marriage has changed over time and how the addition of Zoe to their lives added stress to things.

I would definitely read more by this author duo and found this to be a satisfying and enjoyable story.

Thanks to TLC Book Tours for providing a copy of this book for my review.  All opinions expressed are, as always, my own.

Girl Unknown does sounds interesting. I also like books set in schools or colleges or universities. I'll be watching for this one.

I've been seeing this one around quite a bit recently, Tina, but I feel like I've been burned so many times by these "thrillers" - ha! I love university settings, too, so you have certainly piqued my interest with this one!
