Monday Mini-Review: Spring Break Edition

I'm back from a week in Florida where I met up with my two youngest daughters that were on a band trip to Disney World.  It was a fun week away, and it also felt great to come back home.  I'm not a huge fan of big crowds, and Disney certainly had plenty of those.  But the weather was great and I enjoyed being at Disney again (our last trip there was ten years ago).

I knew I wouldn't have a lot of free reading time.  But I did knock out a few books.

Elle Cosimano's Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead is the second in what I hope will be a series.  I started this one a we flew into Orlando last Saturday morning.

Finlay is right back in the midst of trouble from page one of this book. I liked the brief re-introduction to characters and situations from the first book, and felt like I was reconnecting with an old friend.

In this book, Finlay comes upon a chat room where someone is looking to hire someone to kill Steven, her ex-husband.  Despite their contentious relationship, Finlay is bound and determined to keep Steven safe and find out who is after him.

There's some romance, suspense, and some humor in this second installment.  And at book's end, I felt like Cosimano left things open enough to warrant another installment.

This was a fun vacation read that I found perfect to pick up (and hard to set down) while I was busy heading off to the various Disney parks.

I've been curious about this series. And it looks like you had a great trip.
